The road so far
Vaultbreakers began its public life as Project F4E in 2025 and has shipped test after test since: the January 2025 reveal playtest drew over 35,000 players, the July 2025 test arrived with the first gameplay trailer and Square Enix's backing, February 2026 brought back full PvPvE, and the July 2026 PvE test previewed the difficulty split. The demo landed in October 2026 with the Square Enix Collective publishing announcement. The patch notes timeline has the details.
Platforms and languages
Windows via Steam is the only announced platform. The game ships with wide language support: English (full audio), French, German, Spanish, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, plus Japanese - with some Japanese text still catching up in the current build. Console versions have not been announced; if that changes, this page will say so.
